- Alannah Clarke Horne, Head of HR Compliance, Boundless
Founded in 2019, Boundless is defining the standard for exceptional international employment, building the Global Employment Platform with a black-and-white, clear-cut, and unequivocal approach to HR compliance.
Currently, their team of 25 is spread across more than nine different countries, and in April of this year, they came together face-to-face in Rome for two days of fun, food, and culture-building. Keep reading to find out how it went!
Bringing together a fully-remote team isn’t new for Boundless, having organized many retreats over the past five years, and this year’s trip marked their second offsite with Surf Office.
Their goal? Always the same — company culture.
Dubbed the ‘Culture Club Summit,’ Boundless structures their offsites with an emphasis on socialization, providing opportunities for team members to make memories and build closer relationships. Their scheduling target is 70 percent fun, 30 percent work.
A particular highlight for the team? A delicious evening spent making fettuccine and tiramisu at a local cooking class, followed by a tasting dinner where team members got to spend time sampling their creations over a few drinks and good conversation.
During the days, they filled their program with productive sessions on working culture and company values and, of course, plenty of free time for colleagues to mix and mingle.
The result? A resounding success. But we wouldn't expect anything less from the team that makes positive, remote, global employment their mission.
