There’s a company on the rise who are creating ripples in the blockchain industry. Founded in 2019, Alephium is their name, and they’re in the business of scalable, secure and decentralized blockchain for decentralized apps and tokens.
In June, we had the pleasure of organizing a work trip for them to the Athens Riviera. Thankfully, we didn’t have to learn the world of intricacies of sharded blockchains and sUTXO transactions. Phew!
Our focus was delivering what we do best, a productive ecosystem retreat, and from the sounds of it, this might have been the most memorable trip we’ve organized yet!
They set out to meet as a group of 65, comprised of their core contributors, ecosystem developers, and supporters coming from all over the world.. Our wonderful planner Cristi worked her magic and created a truly epic retreat.
On the evening of Friday 21st June, everyone got together in Athens Riviera, the backdrop of “The Classic City” supplying a touch of jaw-dropping antiquity.
Maybe it was Athens’ namesake Goddess Athena who added a touch of wisdom to the weekend’s work sessions. The 65 Alephium attendees knuckled down and got their thinking caps on with a double-session of presentations and passionate discussions over Saturday and Sunday.
They shared their practical experience of building on Alephium and brainstormed the next steps for their work ecosystem. Bringing the core contributors together with the ecosystem builders and supporters allowed for the cross-pollination of ideas and new synergies.
We were happy to organize the arena fit for the Gods over their workation weekend. The awe-inspiring horizons of the setting Mediterranean sun left a lasting impression on all participants. As it should!
And the food over the weekend? Well, that was as memorable as the location. Ambrosia handed down from the Gods kept the teams fuelled up and productive. Traditional Mediterranean delights were served over the weekend, with assortments of burrata and arugula being washed down with fine granatus (that’s cheese and salad with sparkling wine, to us mortal folk!).
We hope the retreat was as memorable and monumental for the Alephium ecosystem as the backdrop of coastal Athens itself. Standout locations generate standout ideas, and we really can’t wait to see how they develop. We’ll remain as ready as ever for their next off-site work retreat. Here’s to your bright future, Alephium!
