Having the convenience of Surf Office organizing our company event really took the pressure off, allowing our entire team to enjoy themselves without the headache of planning. We’re grateful for all their help and perfect organization.
Speckle is an open source digital infrastructure that makes 3D data accessible to anyone with a browser. They handle interoperability between software silos, real time collaboration, data management, versioning, and automation. Basically, they let designers collaboratively share their creations from the comfort zone of their favorite software. Company retreats are part of the Speckle culture and they came together for their 5th retreat in Mallorca.
Surf Office team helped plan Speckle’s fifth company retreat. It was organized over four days in the first week of October. The team gathered in Mallorca, which is known for its beautiful natural surroundings, historical charm, and traditional Mallorca architecture. The beautiful venue and workplace was surrounded by the Tramuntana mountains, which was great for work and outdoor activities.
Throughout the four day retreat they tried to find a good balance between work and play, giving them the opportunity to try team activities to strengthen team bonds and inspire socialization, creativity, communication, and motivation.
On the fourth day, they split into two groups so that everyone could join in on their favorite activity. The hikers left early with enough water and a lunch box to set off for a great challenge. The kayakers took off from Playa Alcanada and paddled their way to some impressive caves. They even got to jump in the water to explore the caves. The kayaking tour finished with a visit to the town’s lighthouse.
Speckle took this retreat as an opportunity to regroup and align on our mission and vision statements, looking into positioning and messaging opportunities while welcoming our newest team members. The mission is to maximize their impact in the AEC industry.
Speckle believes that company retreats contribute to building stronger relationships with colleagues outside the usual work setting highlighting the importance of these activities.
