We recently organized our company offsite with SurfOffice, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. This was our second year working with Surf to plan our annual company retreat, and once again, they smashed it. We had a beautiful, restorative and fun retreat just outside of Barcelona that the whole team loved. Oahu is usually the most practical choice because Honolulu has the strongest flight access, hotel options, restaurants, and team-building activities. Maui works well for premium beach retreats, Kauai is better for nature-led offsites, and the Big Island suits teams interested in volcanoes, stargazing, and outdoor adventure.
Most teams fly into Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) in Honolulu. Oahu is easiest for group logistics, while Maui’s Kahului Airport (OGG), Kona International Airport (KOA), and Lihue Airport (LIH) are useful for island-specific retreats.
April to June and September to November are usually the best months for a Hawaii retreat, with warm weather, fewer peak-season crowds, and good conditions for outdoor activities. Winter is popular too, especially for surf culture, but prices can be higher.
