La Romana is a strong choice for teams that want a more private, resort-style retreat with Caribbean scenery. A company offsite here combines beaches, golf, and high-end hospitality, creating a relaxed environment that works well for both focused sessions and downtime.
Most teams fly into La Romana International Airport (LRM), which is about 10 to 20 minutes from key resort areas. Alternatively, Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) is around 1 to 1.5 hours away and offers more international connections.
December through April offers the most reliable conditions, with temperatures around 75–85°F and lower humidity. Summer months can reach 85–90°F with higher humidity, and September to October carries higher hurricane risk.
La Romana is known for its more exclusive and structured resort environments, especially areas like Casa de Campo. Compared to busier tourist hubs, it offers a quieter and more controlled setting for company retreats.
Casa de Campo is the most well-known option, offering villas, golf courses, and full-service amenities. Bayahibe is another option for teams that want beachfront access with a slightly more local and relaxed feel.
Teams often plan boat trips to Saona Island, snorkeling, golf tournaments, beach games, cooking classes, and cultural visits to Altos de Chavón. The destination is especially strong for outdoor and water-based activities.
A 3 to 4 day retreat is typical. This allows time for meetings, one or two organized activities, and social experiences without making the schedule feel too packed.
Choosing the right resort setup, planning around weather seasonality, and organizing group activities in advance are key. The destination is more self-contained, so most experiences are tied to where you stay.
Teams can expect a mix of Dominican and international cuisine. Group dinners often take place within resort restaurants, private villas, or scenic locations like Altos de Chavón.
It works well for both. Smaller teams often choose private villas, while larger groups benefit from resort infrastructure that can accommodate bigger events and coordinated activities.

We recently organized our company offsite with SurfOffice, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. We had a beautiful, restorative and fun retreat just outside of Barcelona that the whole team loved.
