Puerto Vallarta is a strong option for teams looking for a coastal retreat with a lively social atmosphere. A corporate retreat here combines beach time, group activities, and a walkable town center, making it easy to balance structured sessions with relaxed evenings.
Most teams arrive via Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR), which is about 15 to 30 minutes from the Hotel Zone and downtown. Direct flights from major US and Canadian cities make it especially convenient for North American teams.
November through May offers the most reliable conditions, with temperatures typically around 75–85°F and lower humidity. Summer months can reach 85–95°F with higher humidity and occasional बारिश, especially between July and September.
The Hotel Zone is practical and close to the airport, Zona Romántica offers a more vibrant and social setting, while Marina Vallarta is quieter and well-organized for groups. Some teams also choose Punta Mita, about 45 minutes away, for a more exclusive setup.
Teams often go for boat trips to Los Arcos, snorkeling or diving excursions, zip-lining in the Sierra Madre mountains, beach games, or guided food tours in the old town. Sunset sailing is also a popular group activity.
Most teams plan 3 to 4 days. This is enough time to include work sessions, one or two organized activities, and social evenings without making the schedule feel too packed.
It combines a beach setting with a real town feel. Unlike more resort-focused destinations, Puerto Vallarta offers a historic center, local dining, and nightlife that give the retreat more variety beyond the hotel.
Heat and humidity during summer, peak tourist seasons in winter, and booking group dinners in advance are key factors. It also helps to plan activities early in the day to avoid midday heat.
Puerto Vallarta has a strong food scene that blends traditional Mexican cuisine with international options. Teams often plan group dinners by the ocean, taco tours, or private chef experiences in villas.
It can accommodate both. Smaller teams often stay in villas or boutique hotels, while larger groups typically choose resorts with meeting spaces and full-service support.
We recently worked with Surf Office to plan an offsite for our team in Sintra, Portugal and the experience was excellent. Elke went above and beyond throughout the entire process, even driving to visit the location herself to ensure everything was perfect. She was instrumental in securing a restaurant that opened exclusively for our group, making the experience truly special. The hotel was lovely, with breathtaking views that provided the ideal backdrop for both work and relaxation. The space was perfect for connecting, brainstorming, and fostering team collaboration. Romane LeBrec-Foulatier was a fantastic partner in planning this event. She did a wonderful job of introducing the planning project via Coda and then was extremely helpful and conscientious in helping us plan toward the event. I always felt that I could depend on her follow-up and she was clear and articulate in her guidance. She was also proactive in flagging items that needed extra consideration or in raising potential issues with the schedule or venue or planning. We really loved the Coda site that she created to for planning and also the Coda dashboard that we shared with the team; the team found it very helpful as well. Lastly, Romane was critical in helping on our last day in France when the taxi drivers were on strike - she very quickly implemented a contingency plan and helped us communicate it to the team through the Coda site. Similarly. Álvaro Pérez-Segnini was very helpful in helping us choose the Chantilly location. He understood the parameters of the offsite and got back to us with multiple proposals in a limited time frame. He helped us understand which option would be the best for us and he helped us negotiate the best space and the best price.
Great offer - hotel did fit perfectly with our expectations. Danielle who took care about our company did a great job, was super available before the event and was a great help to accommodate with every impediment and change we faced and find the best solution for us. Also during the event, she was always available to make our stay a awesome moment.
