Most teams fly into Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) in Liberia, which is about 1 to 1.5 hours from Tamarindo by car. Private transfers are the most common option for groups and help keep arrivals smooth.
The dry season from December to April is the most popular, with temperatures around 80–90°F and consistent sunshine. The green season from May to November brings more humidity and occasional rain, but also fewer crowds and greener surroundings.
Tamarindo stands out for its combination of surf culture and accessibility. It offers a more social and energetic atmosphere than quieter beach towns, with plenty of restaurants, nightlife, and activities within walking distance.
Most teams stay near Tamarindo Beach for convenience and walkability. Nearby areas like Langosta offer a quieter and more upscale feel, while staying slightly outside town can provide more privacy for retreats.
Teams often plan surf lessons, catamaran cruises, paddleboarding, zip-lining, ATV tours, and sunset beach games. The destination is especially strong for water-based and outdoor activities.
A 3 to 4 day retreat is typical. This allows enough time for meetings, a couple of group activities, and social evenings without making the agenda feel rushed.
Heat, especially during the dry season, and planning ahead for group dinners and activities are important. Tamarindo can get busy during peak months, so early booking helps secure the best options.

We had a beautiful, restorative and fun retreat just outside of Barcelona that the whole team loved.
