Glasgow, like much of Scotland, is utterly magical and packed with lots to see and do. The city is bursting with interesting experiences, annual celebrations, and friendly—if not difficult to understand—locals.
When you travel to Glasgow for a team-building retreat, you'll encounter a stunning cityscape comprised of 19th-century Victorian architecture and Instagramable art installations. Getting into Glasgow is fairly straightforward. Glasgow Airport (GLA) is usually around 20–25 minutes from the city centre by taxi, and the city also has strong rail links from Edinburgh, Manchester, and London, which makes planning easier for UK-based groups.
May through September is usually the most comfortable window, with temperatures often around 13–20°C. Longer daylight hours make it easier to include outdoor activities, while colder months tend to work better for teams planning more indoor sessions and evening social plans.
City Centre is the easiest option for convenience, Finnieston has a stylish food and nightlife scene, the West End feels more relaxed and characterful, and Merchant City works well for teams that want restaurants and venues close together.
Groups often go for whisky tastings, walking tours, riverfront activities, escape rooms, street art tours, or day trips toward Loch Lomond for a more outdoors-focused element. In our experience, Glasgow works especially well for teams that want a mix of city energy and informal bonding.
For most groups, 2 to 3 days is a strong format. That gives enough room for workshop time, shared meals, and one or two organized activities without making the schedule feel too packed.
Compared with places like London or Edinburgh, Glasgow is often the better-value choice. Hotels, dining, and event spaces can be more reasonably priced, which helps teams plan a well-rounded offsite without stretching the budget too far.
What gives Glasgow an edge is its atmosphere. It feels creative, friendly, and unpretentious, which can be ideal for company retreats where the goal is not just to meet, but to help people relax and build stronger relationships.
The city has plenty of options for group dinners, from modern Scottish restaurants to more casual spots and lively bars. Teams we’ve hosted in similar UK cities usually respond well to Glasgow’s mix of good hospitality, late-evening energy, and easy-to-plan social venues.
Yes, especially if the group stays central. Many of the main areas are walkable, and short taxi rides or public transport can cover anything farther out, so moving between meetings, dinners, and activities is usually quite manageable.
We got incredibly positive feedback. Many people said it was the best offsite we've ever had. So that's obviously the most important thing from like an organizational point of view. It was super nice working with you guys. I really enjoyed it. It was the first year we had an agency like you guys on board and it did really help, especially now having a much bigger team.
We did send a survey to everyone after the event. And the feedback was very positive. Everyone loved the hotel. People were saying that the food at the venue was very good, which I agree with. The rooms were great. The meeting space was perfect for us. Obviously the beach and the area were perfect. I think it was a great location for our team. There were some people that said this was the best summit they’ve attended.
The feedback has been impeccable. Everybody loved the hotel, loved the staff, loved the support from Surf Office, everything. All the expectations were, you know, not even just met, but went beyond. We loved the way we were taken care of.

We walked into it anxious. We walked away from it absolutely amazed by the results. It was so well organized. I would never have been able to do that alone, you pulled that off entirely. It was amazing. The team is buzzing! It blew people away. It definitely blew us away.
I was stressed out before the retreat cause I never did the planning. As soon as we arrived to the hotel, they knew everything and I didn’t have to worry about anything. Big thumbs up to the Surf Office team for the general flexibility, and for the communication.
It was absolutely perfect. There wasn’t one thing that I can criticize. We had a fantastic time, really really good. It went so smoothly, everybody was very happy. Anybody that asked now about how the offsite went, I just say: “It was amazing, you only can use 1 company, you don’t need to use anybody else”.
