Feed your appetite with a cooking class

  • Build your culinary skills, try new cuisines and bond with team members through a group cooking class for your next team building day!
  • Work together to complete your meal or raise the stakes with an Iron Chef competition between team members!
  • A trained chef will take you through all the steps from prepping ingredients to putting the finishing touches on your dish.
  • Once you’re done cooking, sit down with colleagues to enjoy the fruits of your labour as you dig into your finished meal.
  • This tends to be a more expensive team building experience but if it’s within your budget it makes for a hands-on alternative to traditional team dining.

Explore the city on a 16-passenger bicycle

  • Sip and sight-see as you explore the city on a 16-person, pedal-powered pub on wheels!
  • Your local guide will guide you through the streets as you enjoy beer and wine onboard and stop at a variety of downtown Indianapolis bars and restaurants along the way.
  • Tours typically run around two hours so make sure to plan for this to take up most of your afternoon or early evening!
  • While the bikes accommodate a maximum of 16 people (plus your guide), you don’t need to fill all the spaces to participate. Many tours can run with as few as six participants.
  • Keep in mind that any food or drink you purchase at your tour stops will cost extra - make sure to bring cash and remind colleagues to plan accordingly.

Race the clock in an escape room

  • Hunt for clues, solve puzzles and work to beat the clock and complete your mission with an escape room team building experience!
  • You’ll typically have around one hour to complete the activity, so communication, teamwork and strategic thinking is a must if you want to finish on time.
  • Staff will explain everything you need to know before starting and are available throughout to answer any questions you may have (they’ll even walk you through the solution if you run out of time).
  • Many facilities can accommodate groups as small as two to as many as over sixty - be sure to inquire about any capacity limitations when booking!
  • This is a fairly cost-effective team building experience if you’re working within a tighter budget.

Discover Indianapolis on a gondola ride

  • Explore the city from a brand new perspective with a gondola tour through Indiapolis’ canal accompanied by your own singing gondolier.
  • You’ll feel like you’re in Venice as you enjoy a one hour tour through the city. You can even bring a bottle of wine onboard to add to the fun!
  • Your experienced guide will share interesting history about the canal and insights on local culture - you may even get a few great recommendations to check out after your cruise!
  • The boats can typically accommodate up to eight passengers making this an option best-suited to smaller teams.
  • A fairly budget-friendly experience, this activity offers a great way to unwind and bond with team members at the end of a productive day.

Race to the finish at indoor go-karting

  • Join coworkers for an Indy 500 of your very own as you race around an indoor speedway in go-karts.
  • You’ll be provided with all the gear you need including a helmet, neck brace and even optional racing suits - just be sure to come in comfortable, secure footwear!
  • Many facilities offer private rooms for rental so you can enjoy some food and drink and socialize with colleagues after you’re done racing.
  • Track your times individually or host a tournament by department to see which team is the quickest!
  • This is a relatively affordable team building experience, especially for larger teams looking to have fun on a budget.

Unwind with a paintball tournament

  • Get your adrenaline-pumping and engage in a little friendly-competition with a team paintball tournament!
  • Break off into teams to develop teamwork, communication and strategic thinking skills as you navigate the playing field and work to take down your opponents.
  • Onsite staff will take you through all of the instructions and safety protocol before you begin ensuring a good time for everyone!
  • This is an excellent option for teams of all sizes with bookings available for groups as small as ten and as large as a hundred or more.
  • A great time and a great price - paintball is an ideal activity for teams looking to bond on a budget.

Aim for a hole-in-one at mini golf

  • Fun, easy and affordable, mini golf is a great option for teams looking to socialize and unwind in a low-pressure environment.
  • Choose from 9-hole or 18-hole options depending on the time you have available in your schedule.
  • Looking for something more adult? Many locations also have driving ranges where you can test your skills with coworkers.
  • Some facilities also offer private party rooms if you’re looking to cater or plan more team building activities after your golf match!
  • While this is a good option for teams of all sizes, be aware that you may need to break off into smaller groups so as not to hold up other players.

Hit a high note with a karaoke session

  • Relax, unwind and channel your inner Celine Dion with an evening of karaoke and good times.
  • You’ll be able to rent a private room where your team can choose from hundreds of songs in a variety of different languages to sing along with.
  • Many facilities also offer food and drink onsite so you can socialize and refuel between performances.
  • Staff are available to help show you how to work all of the equipment and answer any questions you may have.
  • This is a very reasonably priced experience and works well for teams of all sizes. If you have a larger team, inquire about booking multiple rooms!

Test your aim with ax throwing

  • If you’re looking for an adrenaline-pumping, skill-testing and most importantly fun team building experience then consider booking an afternoon of ax throwing for your next get-together!
  • Upon arrival, staff will walk you through everything you need to know from tips and techniques to safety protocol that will ensure an enjoyable experience for all.
  • This is an ideal activity for teams of all sizes as most facilities can accommodate groups as small as 8 to as large as 50.
  • Closed-toe shoes are a must and comfortable, athletic attire is recommended - you’re likely to break a sweat.
  • Consider hosting a round robin tournament to see who comes out on top or ask staff to show you a few trick shots (and make sure to grab a few photos while you’re at it!).

Reach new heights with indoor rock climbing

  • Build trust, work on communication skills and try your hand at something totally new with a team rock climbing experience.
  • Most facilities offer a range of climbing courses providing options for newcomers as well as more advanced climbers.
  • You’ll receive a training lesson before you start where staff will explain the different courses, equipment and challenges available to your team.
  • All of the equipment you’ll need is typically available for rental onsite, just make sure you come wearing comfortable clothing you can move easily in.
  • An affordable team building experience that can accommodate a broad number of participants, this is a great option for teams of all sizes and budgets.
